Bonde in Shopify Sidekick
Ask Sidekick about your subscriptions, bundles, upsells, gifts and reward programs, and let it draft new ones for you to save.
Bonde connects to Shopify Sidekick, the assistant at the bottom of every Shopify admin page. Sidekick can read what Bonde knows about your store and can draft upsells, bundles and reward programs. Nothing is saved until you press Save in Bonde.
What Sidekick can read
Sidekick already sees your products, orders, customers and subscription contracts. Bonde adds the numbers only Bonde has:
- Subscription health: monthly recurring revenue, new and churned subscribers, where subscribers drop off by order number, and the reasons they give when they cancel
- Subscription journeys: the perks you give at each renewal and how often they apply
- Bundles: every bundle with its orders and revenue for the period you ask about
- Upsells: every upsell with impressions, clicks, conversion rate and revenue
- Reward programs: each program's rules and the store credit it has issued
- Gift campaigns: each campaign with its tiers and how many gifts were claimed
Every answer links back to the matching page in Bonde.
Try questions like:
- "Where are my subscribers dropping off, and which journey perk would help?"
- "Which upsell converts best this month?"
- "How much store credit has the renewal reward issued?"
Pair Bonde data with what Sidekick already knows. "Which products sell well together that I have not bundled yet?" combines your order history with your bundle list.
What Sidekick can draft
Sidekick can fill in a Bonde form for you. It opens the editor with the fields staged, or changes the editor you already have open. You review the result and press Save.

While an editor is open, you can keep talking to Sidekick: "change the placement to checkout", "rename it", "keep it as a draft". Each request updates the form, and the Save button is yours.
New reward programs are staged as Draft unless you ask Sidekick to turn them on. Upsells and bundles follow the same rule as the editor: review, then save.
Setting it up
Open Sidekick
Click Work with Sidekick at the bottom of any admin page, including inside Bonde.
Allow Bonde
The first time Sidekick needs Bonde it asks for permission. Choose Yes, and don't ask again so Sidekick can also open Bonde pages for you. Choosing Yes once allows a single answer only.
Ask
Ask in your own words. Naming Bonde helps when the question could also be answered from Shopify's own data.
Good to know
- Sidekick never saves for you. Every change goes through a Bonde form and your Save button.
- Bonde data only. Sidekick reads Bonde's own configuration and performance numbers. It does not get your Shopify orders or customers through Bonde; it already has those.
- One editor at a time. Sidekick changes the form that is open in Bonde. To change an existing upsell, bundle or program, open it first, then ask.
- Multi-product and build-a-box bundles, gift campaigns, journeys and subscription settings are read-only in Sidekick for now. Sidekick can report on them and link you to the page.
- Subscriptions and loyalty are Pro features. On the Free plan Sidekick reports that they are not enabled and links to the page.
- Shopify limits. Sidekick answers with the first ten to twenty-five records of a list and may summarise long answers. For the full picture open the linked Bonde page.
